Dear Future Teacher...Schedule Madness!

This week we are talking schedules!

Call me crazy, but schedules are my cup of tea.  I just can see how things move and work to make the perfect schedule!

I have two schedules to share with you today.  I have added pictures of both below and both are uploaded to google docs, which I know changes the format, but I wanted you to be able to access the documents and make them your own!

Daily Schedule

Everyone has their own needs - class to class, school, to school there are different parameters that guide you on how to make your schedule.

I made mine early this summer because I will be on maternity leave in the fall and I would like to be as organized as possible for the sub!

I am pretty adamant that I do not need to make this fancy and cute (though I do love me some cutesy and fancy docs).  This one gets modified and changed as necessary throughout the year.  It needs to be emailed back and forth to specialists and service providers, so it needs to be reader friendly and easy to access.

If you want to try your hand at a schedule like mine, you can find a google doc version HERE.

Literacy Stations Schedule

Guided Reading stations occur 5 days a week for 60 minutes per day.  There are three 20 minute stations per day.  On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday we have literacy support for 40 minutes (2 groups).  On Wednesdays there is no support. I need to ring the bell after each station.  Because additional support will be coming in and out of the room based on our schedule it is very important to stay on schedule and switch groups on time.  The learning center students will also be given their services during this time. Of course, while I am taking groups, the other kids are working on meaningful activities (listening center on the iPads, reader's response, independent reading, partner reading, poetry, word work, etc).  After many years of winging it without a strict plan, a teacher from our district shared a table like this:

This was my go to all last year to make sure that everyone was getting to everything that I wanted them to throughout the week!
