Blend Games Pack Is HERE!

Last month we participated in our FIRST Free-For-All. The experience was AMAZING and we plan to participate again. In planning for the January event we decided to start a new line of FUNdations aligned products: GAME PACKS!

We started with Unit 7 (-ng and –nk glued sounds) and they have been catching on with buyers, but also with our firsties! We have caught our breath from V-day and have the second pack in the set – blends. We have aligned it with the FUNdations phonics curriculum for grade 1 (unit 8) but really anyone working with blends can benefit from using these games.

We have been using the Unit 7 games mostly for RTI (but that’s only because we didn’t finish the pack until after we finished teaching the unit). They can be used with the WHOLE class too! You can find the pack HERE!

Vacation Anyone?

Anyone else on vacation this week? I have been seeing postings on FB where teachers said they were in school due to all of their snow days!!! EEK!! Luckily, we are off for the WHOLE week. Gotta LOVE February vacation!

Of course, we have a TON going on this week. The HUBS was plowing from Thursday am –Friday am and Sat pm-Sun pm, so he is BEYOND exhausted. Luckily he got some serious sleep in before we headed to Disney On Ice tonight! Thanks goodness there were princesses in this one – The last time we went the princesses did not make an appearance and someone was UPSET!!

On the agenda tomorrow will be some sledding – The Little Lady’s first REAL sledding experience at my grandparents hill (where I used to sled ALL OF THE TIME!!). I am excited to see her on the hill!

On the teacher side, I have A LOT going on for a week off. Later this week (Friday-Monday) I will again be participating in a Facebook Free-For-All. This month’s will be set up differently from last month’s, but don’t worry you will be getting some AMAZING freebies!!

Also later this week (Saturday and Sunday) I will be participating in a Blog Hop where everyone is sharing a math freebie and how they use it in their classroom. The blog hop will be a FIRST for me! Finally, Mel and I are putting the finishing touches on our next phonics GAME pack – It should be up within a day or two. The theme is blends…stay tuned.

MAGICAL Magic -e

Hi Friends!

I hope you all had a great weekend (and an ok Monday too!). The HUBS and I got away for the night on Saturday to the hotel where we got married. It was amazing to be away and free for the night, but I REALLY missed the little lady in the morning. However, we made time for some gluten-free breakfast goodness. The hotel made me GF chocolate chip pancakes. Haven’t had those since before I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease! YUM!!

In any event, I didn’t quite finish our next phonics pack in time for the weekend, but it’s available HERE right now!! This unit focuses on V-C-E words (magic-e, bossy e, etc). There are 15 practice pages (one for each day of the unit) and 4 trick word pages (none, nothing, friend, other, another).

We are working on a second set of games. Hopefully they will be done and up by Friday. These will be aligned with FUNdations Unit 8 – blends. I promise I will be back with the full info and maybe even a GIVEAWAY!! ;)

Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner!!

I know I said the HUBS would choose a winner in the morning and I almost made it in the morning...RIGHT?? Today is the HUBS' birthday and I spent the morning making him a monster cake. It's almost done. I will post a picture of it when it's complete over on the FB Page. In the meantime I want to announce the winners (YES, I said winners!) of my Snowman Bundle. The HUBS loved that he got this job, so he decided to choose one winner from the blog comments and one from FB.

Chilly Willy!!

Did you have a full week this week? I feel like everyone around the country was off for a few days this week between the cold and the snow. EXTREME cold here, but no days off. Instead, we got INDOOR recess all week (except we did get to go out today - THANK GOODNESS!!). Indoor recess was about to do me in with all of the tattling that was happening! But then, just when I was ready to chalk it up to a not-so-great week, it all turned around!! A student I had a L-O-N-G time ago came to visit. He was in my first grade for 2 years and we really bonded. He will always be special to me and it was great to see him all grown-up (He's a Freshman in high-school and taller than me!) His visit reminded me why I do what I do and the happiness that a child's success can bring to me (and them too!) Happy Friday!!! I hope you had a great moment of today too!
